There's a new patch for the Windows version of the game to coincide with today's release of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition for Mac OS X. No transmogrification of your PC into OS X is involved, but it does fix a lot of bugs and add some nice features to the game, in particular, five new class kits: Dwarven Defender, Shadowdancer, Dragon Disciple, Dark Moon Monk and Sun Soul Monk. The patch is available for the Beamdog version of the game (Mac OS X version already includes it), and presumably the corresponding updates for iPad (App Store) and Steam (Atari->Steam) versions are being filtered through their more lengthy approval processes. On January 15th, Overhaul Games released patch 1.0.2012 for the Windows version of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, which includes a long list of bug fixes, crash fixes, and minor feature additions. Apparently Overhaul Games had no direct involvement in the adaptation of the game for addition on Steam. Read More
This has been percolating for a while, but a new patch has been released for Dragon Age: Origins, bringing it up to version 1.05. If you own Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition, your game should have come patched up to 1.04. This patch is purely a maintenance release, fixing the quirky authentication problems with newly installed DLC. Furthermore, the unintended(?) requirement to log into your EA account every time you played in order to have access to DLC or load a saved game of a playthrough that included DLC has been removed. This problem only existed in the PC and Mac versions of the game, so console users are unaffected. Read More
