- Fixed a Steam-specific issue related to VO not playing after switching languages (however, Steam doesn't allow the installation of beta patches)
As mentioned in the Developer Chat on March 5th, Dragon Age 2 will support DirectX11 with high resolution textures. These textures were released just yesterday as an optional download (1.08 GB) at the Bioware site. Using high-resolution textures requires a graphics card with at least 1024MB video memory, and most of the benefits from the Hi-Res textures will only be seen if you are able to run the game in DirectX 11.
For this article, I'll put away that Slap Morrigan mod and get into a comprehensive list of fan-made patches that unobtrusively remedy various issues with the game, such as broken side quests, dialog continuity, imports, missing/unaccessible items, graphical glitches and nonfunctional game mechanics.
